As the statue of liberty continues her fight for everything American, she gains experience. Obviously. And as all RPG player know, experience eventually leads to leveling up. When the statue of liberty powers up though, she puts all others to shame 😀

Doghouse diaries is always good for a chuckle or two but a recent one reached lol status for me. It pokes fun at how one’s facebook status is used to measure how “official” one’s relationship is. Enjoy!
Amazing picture that would impress even MC Escher
MC Escher is a famous artist known in part for his unique distorted views of reflected surfaces (see example on the right). And he is one of my favorite artists. I found a photograph that is obviously inspired by Escher and his art (especially the one on the right :-P). The photographer used a glass ball to both flip and bring into focus the cityscape on the other side. Epic win indeed!

The internet please?
As a follow up to my recent post, I thought I would share my favorite story about dealing with the technology impaired. This occurred back when I was working at an ITS helpdesk.
Client: I can not access the internet.
Me: Ok, I can help with that. What have you tried so far?
Client: I clicked on internet explorer and all I see is this MSN crap!
Me: That is the internet.
Client: No this is not! I want the internet.
I was so stumped for a while, but then inspiration struck.
Me: Look at the top of your screen. Do you see where www.msn.com is? Great! Click there and delete that text. Now, type www.google.com and press enter.
Client: Great, thanks so much for your help!

I’ve been enjoying the great stories over at Clients from Hell, and thought I would share some of my favorites here.

Me: “Now just clear the cache memory in your browser in order to see latest changes we made to your website.”
Client: “What browser?”
Me: “Well, you probably use Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer to access the internet.”
Client: “No, no, you’re mistaken. We go directly to internet.”

Website user who couldn’t find an article emailed our help desk. We sent him the link to the content he couldn’t find.
Client: “Please change the letters in your email to blue, so I can click the link.”

Me: “Unfortunately some of the images you sent over cant be used as they are the wrong file type.”
Client: “Oh, okay. Which files?”
Me: “The animated GIFs.”
Client: “So why can’t they be used for the brochure?”

Client: “Why is the text slanty?”
Me: “It is in italics.”
Client: “No, it is slanty.”
Me: “It’s called italics.”
Client: “I don’t care what you call it, make it stop.”

“I want to build a website that appeals to the Amish people.”

Client: ”So they say that art is a passion. Do you really think that it’s right to charge someone for something you’re passionate about?”

Literally!! Haha, this is such a great pun. The Beatles seem to have gained a significant amount of weight since the last time I saw this picture.
Are you modest?

I actually did think I was modest, so evidently I am not. Oh well :p
The only problem I see with this is that people who think that they are not modest, might be correct! They would have to be very honest with themselves though.
